And like magic, my body listens. It’s as if he has a direct line to my core and plays it like a fiddle. I explode around him, my cry cut short by his hand at my throat. With the lack of air, my eyes roll back in my head as the orgasm continues, spreading through me while he starts to groan in my hair, his cock pumping and jumping inside of me, filling me full of his cum. I’m shaking. Fuck, I’m literally shaking as the orgasm slowly begins to fade but my legs still shake with need. He pulls out of me, and I expect him to leave me there, but instead, he turns me over gently and presses the most tender kiss I’ve ever had against my lips.
“Good girl,” he rasps as he holds me up in the water.
My eyes trail over his shoulders to the trees, finding someone standing there. Not a threat.
Jiro.
He watches us. Probably watched us the entire time.
Then he turns his back, giving us the privacy I don’t really need him to give, keeping watch, keeping us safe while we got lost in each other.
My silent protector. . .
TWENTY-THREE
We eat good that night, camp, and head out again the next morning. Creed announces it’s the fifth day with a caress of his hand on my ass before leading the way toward the other side of the island. We’ve taken our time of it, knowing that there’s really no rush and it’s better to be safe than sorry. Besides, Row tells us the hunt doesn’t end until the last Prey falls, or whatever. He doesn’t seem to think there’s usually a winner. I can’t say that’s surprising though. What’s stopping them from breaking their own rules?
Row shows up a map he has, pretty rough in nature for what I expected. It looks hand drawn, and while it doesn’t show much, it shows the shape of the island as well as the testing facility, two observation towers—one of which we can see in the distance—and the airstrip. When he reveals he drew it himself from his memory—initiates aren’t allowed to have a map—it makes a little more sense. We figure we’ll head toward the observation tower. Not only can we see it in the distance if we climb up a bit in the trees and look out, but it’s a great point to come up with a plan.
We’re making quick work of the jungle when a man comes literally out of nowhere, running through the jungle. He’s not being quiet, and he looks like he’s running from something terrifying though we can’t see what it is. There’s no warning of his presence though he’s not moving with stealth.
