- ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Her fingers go to the hem of her shirt, and we all freeze at the gesture. But she doesn’t lift up her shirt. Instead, she looks at all of us with raised brows. “Privacy would be nice,” she says.
“You shouldn’t be alone,” Jiro grunts, his eyes on where her fingers rest, clearly holding his breath for her to take her shirt off just like I am.
“Creed will stay with me, won’t you, big guy?” she says, her eyes alight with mischief as she glances over at the man in question.
Creed shifts on his feet. “Uh. . .”
“Please,” she pouts. “I haven’t had a bath in days. This is my first real chance.”
“Fine,” he sighs and looks at the rest of us expectantly.
Jiro nods. “We’ll go gather food. Find some birds.”
“Yes,” I repeat as her fingers tighten on her hem. “Birds.” But then I blink. “Birds?”
“High in protein,” Achilles says. “Unless you’d like to eat bugs.”
I can’t think of anything more atrocious. “Birds, it is,” I grunt. “I could use my gun—”
“Nope,” Achilles growls. “You’re just watching, buddy. Might as well get comfortable being a piece of furniture for a bit.”
Rolling my eyes, I follow after them, but still I can’t help looking over my shoulder. Billie’s eyes meet mine as she pulls her shirt over her head, revealing her spectacular breasts that both Creed and I look at.
“Hurry up, Hawthorne,” Achilles growls.
Just before I turn back around and hustle to follow Jiro and Achilles, she grins.
A witch. What an achingly seductive witch.
TWENTY-TWO
BILLIE
And then it’s just the two of us. Creed stands in front of me, his body tense. I’m still wearing the thin bikini dance outfit beneath the shirt I took off, but the scrap of fabric hardly covers much of my breasts, leaving little to the imagination.
And Creed is clearly imagining.
His eyes dip down and settle on my cleavage for a few seconds before he realizes what he’s doing and jerks his eyes back up to mine.
“You don’t mind, do you?” I ask, still holding my shirt in my hand, letting it dangle. I’ll probably try to hang them up somewhere to avoid bugs after washing them but for now, I stare at the man in front of me.
He clears his throat. “No. Not at all.” Hesitating, he turns slightly. “Should I. . .”
“If you want to,” I offer.
For years, I’ve been getting naked in front of strangers for money, but this. . .this is an intimacy on a whole other level. In the short amount of time we’ve been together, I’ve gotten close with Creed, Jiro, and Achilles. Now that Row has joined us, I don’t know what that’ll do to our dynamic, but the man in front of me draws something from deep inside me, a yearning, a desperation.
