  70. TO CONTINUE THE ADVENTURE…
  71. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
  72. ALSO BY KENDRA

There’s no hesitation. I jerk my shirt over my head and kick off my boots before tugging down my pants. There are no heated looks as we go about searching in a clinical way. Finding where they put the tracker in is important. We hadn’t even noticed. I hadn’t noticed. They’ve been following us since the beginning and it’s really starting to piss me off that I’m surprised they’d even do this shit.

Creed gives me his back and I run my hands over it, searching for any small cuts or something under the skin. It isn’t until I get to his lower back, to the left of his spine, that I find it. A small puncture wound. When I press on the area, I can feel what seems like a small hard pellet beneath his skin.

“Here,” I say, drawing the others over.

They all come to study the spot before Jiro turns his back to me. “Check the same spot.”

I feel along his back and press. “Right here.”

Achilles checks me and finds it in the same spot. Clearly, they don’t deviate from their task, putting it in the exact same place on every single person.

“Those bastards,” I growl, angry at this whole situation. We’ve been at a greater disadvantage than we even knew the entire time. “What do we do?”

Jiro holds up his knife. “What we have to. We’re going to cut them out.” He pours some of the alcohol from the first aid kit onto the knife and lets it dry before holding it up. “Who wants to start?”

Fuck. That doesn’t sound pleasant. The trackers are close enough to the spine to worry me I’ll be paralyzed with one wrong move, but if there’s anyone I trust to do it, it’s these men. We’ve fought side by side, survived. This is just one more task.

“I’ll go first,” Creed volunteers. “Get it out of me.”

I can see why they chose this spot. It’s not something easy to reach and feel on your own. And they’d made it so the Prey wouldn’t band together from the beginning. Lucky us that we found the box before we left the island. They might have known immediately the moment we step off Prey Island and onto Predator Point. We would have never made it across.
