Chapters (72)
And now I realise that, I know I have nothing to lose.
This ends tonight, but I intend to go out on a high. To take the one thing I crave.
I will at long last get my revenge on Hannah Freemont.
Hannah Freemont, or Cole as she is now known, has always been at the centre of this for me, ever since that day in the farmhouse. She witnessed my humiliation and I have been hellbent on trying to put us on an even keel.
I despise her, I lust for her, I am obsessed with her. All of these years, I have denied myself, but she has never been far from my thoughts and since I started playing these little games, my control has gradually been slipping.
This ends tonight. I plan to go down in flames and I intend to take Hannah with me.

Hannah was exhausted by the time she arrived home, a cocktail of emotions draining her.
After kicking Liam out of her car, she had turned on the radio for company as she drove back to her flat. The news that started playing moments after she tuned in had floored her.
Lauren was dead.
The shock was so sudden, the grief overwhelming, a fist clenching her throat and making it difficult to breathe, and she had swerved to the side of the road, pulling the car to an abrupt halt as she wept for her friend.
It wasn’t until that initial shock had subsided and she had finally pulled herself together to safely drive home that the thought occurred to her.
Was Liam responsible? She recalled how he had shown up suddenly on Friday after going AWOL for days. Is that where he had disappeared to? Had he gone to Kent and murdered Lauren?
While she was relieved to get away from him, she still couldn’t shake the rush of sadness for something that didn’t actually exist. He had tricked her into falling for him, concealing his true identity, and for what reason? Was this all part of some sick way to try to get back at her for what had happened to his mother?
Josh’s words echoed around her head.
You need to stay away from him.
He’s not who he says he is
Liam was obviously behind it all. The flowers she had received, the car that had followed her to his house. It would explain why he hadn’t been home. And Rosie’s break-in? Had he orchestrated that as well? It all made sense now, how he would disappear and she wouldn’t hear from him for a few days. And was he behind Jill’s death too? Had he pushed her down the stairs?
How could she have been so stupid not to realise?
