This will be a long and difficult challenge for me Diary, but I think I have a chance of giving Sugandh a proper career.

Chalo I need to read Gouri’s email now. Give me strength Diary.

10.02 p.m.

EMAIL HAS COME FROM DOMINIC!

He has made some changes to the document and then sent it to his contact in HR. I should be expecting a call from her tomorrow for some details.

Phew. So far so good.

Diary, you won’t believe what Dominic has done to the numbers. He plans to show Lederman that the monthly bill for 7 Dufresne heads is going to be 240,000 pounds!!!!

I am not sure Tom will buy that. But anyways he is the boss.

Now there is too much positive energy going through me to read Gouri’s email. Tomorrow.

10.15 p.m.

~Aha! One more email. There is going to be an informal LLTLF Group B meeting tomorrow after work.

Thank god. That will be some distraction from the flurry of activity I currently seem to be in.

Good night. Long day.

30 March 2007

12.23 p.m.

Nobody else is in the office Diary. Not one person from Dufresne. Everyone is out for meetings. Nothing to do till the LLTLF meeting in the evening. So can’t go home also. Bored.

12.24 p.m.

Brilliant idea. After that incident with Durmondson’s Useless Memorial, I have avoided doing anything in London associated with art, culture or Afghan Wars. But just now I spotted a brochure on the noticeboard about some lunchtime music programme at the St Hilda church nearby. Why not? Why not?

Better than wasting the afternoon waiting for the meeting. I think it is classical music. But at least there will not be a guided tour of cutlery. Also not all classical music is boring. I am sure they will play one or two fast numbers.

2.14 p.m.

Sometimes, Diary, I wonder if the only point of the whole world is to just make my life utterly miserable. And that too for no reason. I will be living in this world, minding my own business, when suddenly the world will come and slap me in the face and run away laughing like Jagathi Sreekumar.

Look at what happened when I decided to go and listen to some Tchakavekasky or some other bastard’s classical music. Around 12.30 p.m. I planned to quietly go to St Hilda’s without anyone noticing. So instead of going through the main entrance I decided to use one of the service entrances in the back of the Lederman building. Usually only the housekeeping fellows use this. And that too only at night when employees have gone.
