On the other hand I was already falling into commando mode. First I had to alert Tom and abort mission. Then I had to destroy all trace of any incriminating evidence. I must leave nothing for the spy.
And then I needed to figure out who this SEC mole is.
Dominic is pretty sure that we won’t get into trouble. But he is upset that the Dufresne team might be under investigation as well. The problem, he said, was that there was no way to escape if a client went under. You would always be associated with the fiasco. Even if we did escape from this, our careers at Dufresne could be blackmarked forever.
FUCCCCCCCCCCK.
Immediately after the meeting I ran to the Dufresne conference room. All of us had been working together on some decks. My laptop was there. I decided that I was not going to take any half measures. I ran into the room. Thankfully everyone was out for lunch. I went to my laptop, switched it on and then erased all my data on it. I then did a fresh recovery of the Windows Operating System. I would lose all my data, but at least I could access my webmail with a browser. Then I double checked the hard drives and disc drives.
At this stage I realized that in the confusion I had made a slight mistake. I had erased and reformatted Kurt’s laptop. I quietly left things as they were, wiped my finger prints and then went over to my laptop. In a way this had been a fortunate mistake. Because this is when I realized that all the Raveena clips were on my laptop. Thankfully I did not lose them. I took a backup on my pen drive and then formatted my machine.
After this I took all my documents to the shredder room. While the machine shredded I cleaned up my mobile phone.
Then I came back home, came to my room and destroyed anything problematic.
So right now the only things I have with me are personal documents like passport, documents directly related to Lederman II, Jenny pics and Raveena movies. And of course you Diary. (But now I carry you on a pen drive inside my wallet. You know too much.)
Everything else gone.
Next item of action: Meet with Tom. I have SMS’d him to meet me same place, same time, before work, at the same cafe.
HOW WILL I SLEEP? HOW CAN I EAT?
BREATHE BREATHE …
Maybe writing some comedy will calm my nerves.
HOO HOO HOO HOO.
Diary. Why me Diary?
Why always Einstein?
10.20 p.m.
Tom has confirmed the meeting.
Now there is no time to waste. Everything must proceed on a war footing.
11.10 p.m.
OH MY GOD. It just occurred to me. I think I know who the mole is.
