Just came back from the Apple store. Bought the cheapest possible laptop for Gouri. I didn’t want to. For the price of one Apple laptop I can buy a normal Toshiba or Acer and also buy an illegal immigrant who will sit at home and operate it for Gouri.
Full marketing only.
But I cannot handle any more SMS messages. And she has already sent not one but two 2000-word plus War and Peace type emails. It is much easier to just buy it for her.
Dominic came back today. And he wants to meet in the car park day after tomorrow. Strange. I have no idea what is going on.
Meanwhile Tom wants to know if I have done any work on the ‘SPV for the Corpus’. Will Wikipedia tonight to figure out what he means.
Nothing is happening in life in general. I have a lot of money. But otherwise nothing. The project is a bore. There is no more excitement in bribing Tom. That has also become routine.
Can’t get promoted. Project is boring. Personal life is empty. Hotel is rubbish. No business trips. Nothing.
Feeling terribly unmotivated to do anything.

Mostly boring day except for an interesting meeting with Tom in his office during lunch time. I was just about to go to the canteen with Kurt when I got the SMS.
Ran upstairs. (Like Dominic, Tom is also beginning to look less lively than usual. Normally there is always whiskey on his table. Today he was drinking coffee.)
And then he told me what he is planning to do with all the LLTLF funds.
His idea is actually very smart but also completely fraudulent and illegal. My conscience is still not 100% clear about all this. But in the end what is important is to help Lederman by helping Dufresne.
Tom has asked the board to allow him to invest any surplus LLTLF funds. This way while there is enough money to manage shows and events, the rest of the money is earning a solid return for the foundation. I told him that this was a very sensible idea. Provided we made smart investments, the foundation could be well funded for a really long time. This could really help the children.
Tom laughed very loudly and said how much he admired my ability to play along with all this. I also laughed and told him that I loved playing along with him once in a while.
Once again he made double espressos for both of us. This time he said the coffee was Columbian. I made a long ‘ooooh’ sound and looked impressed. Inside I was dreading drinking that nonsense. As usual he gulped it down in one shot. And then he explained.
