But after seeing Tom’s house … now I have no doubt at all. We are doing the right thing. The entire idea of capitalism is to make people wealthy. Is to help them generate funds and hire people and spend money and buy products. The more money Tom makes, the more money he spends, the more he gives back to the economy. Sure, may be his sources are not entirely legitimate.

When you think about society as a whole we must make some compromises.

Tonight’s party has cleared my doubts.

I will sleep well tonight.

OH MY GOD. After Mohanlal I think Pierce Brosnan is my favourite actor.

For the next LLTLF Comedy for Children night I am thinking of doing something Einstein-style.

Which means it will be different, edgy, experimental and definitely innovative.

So I am thinking let us take what Jenny did … and then turn it on its head. Somersault it.

Jenny had celebrity comedians come on stage to make jokes. And in between she had Dufresne staff come and do short introductions and witty one-liners.

In my show I want to do the opposite. I will have Lederman staff, including consultants, do funny stage routines. In between celebrities, like Pierce Brosnan, will come on stage, ask for funding, make witty one-liners and then go away. There are many benefits to this according to me. First of all you are telling people that LLTLF is not some fraud CSR initiative. The employees at Lederman really care about this. Each of them wants to use laughter as a tool to do good deeds. So they are prepared to go on stage and make people laugh.

The message is clear: We need to laugh for the kids. And when it comes to Lederman, laughter begins at home.

Excellent. Just writing about it is giving me confidence.

And also because it is happening in summer, and I have somersaulted the concept of a celeb comedy show, I want to call it …

SUMMERSAULT 2007!

The challenge here is to decide who will be the Lederman staff that will go on stage. I am assuming two or three of the Group A guys will volunteer. I am there from Group B. I am sure a few more will pitch in. Six or seven with an equal number of celebrities should be more than enough.

Sexy idea. Fun but also there is a certain level of humanity in it which commercial comics can’t reflect. Now I need to convince the other LLTLF guys.

I think I will cc Tom on the email and see what happens.

Summersault email has gone out to all Group B and Group A fellows. I have cc’d Tom and mentioned the cc prominently at the end of the email. Good ideas sometimes need a little persuasion.

Fingers crossed.
