  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

I washed and dried my hands and pulled the envelope out of my Brahmin. Still stunned, I stepped out of the bathroom. I needed to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me. There she was. Glowing. Happy. All cozy up under her man. The more I watched their exchange: how she looked at him, how he looked at her, the way he whispered in her ear, how her lips curled into a permanent smile. I knew one thing; she had it all. So, why in the hell did she need to fuck my man? Why in the hell did she need to fuck up my happy home? Her happy ass was the cause of all the damn drama from the day Kyron stepped foot out of that prison. This trick ass bitch didn’t deserve happiness. Her happiness was about to turn into sadness once I got finished with her. Fuck this, I now had a change of plans. Instead of giving it to Kay, I was giving the envelope burning a hole in my hands directly to Trae.

Chapter Seven

ANGEL

Lord have mercy! I called myself planning the perfect baby shower. The only drama I anticipated was with Rick and Kyra. And that was my own doing, and I could pretty much control it but come on! Why is Mari here? She came out of the bathroom, marched out to Trae then handed him an envelope and rushed back inside the bathroom. I knew she was up to some sneaky shit! Dammit Mari! A bitch like her made it hard for anyone to like or support her in her time of need. I banged on the door and made her open it but not before watching the exchange between Kay, Tasha and Trae. Now, me and her were huddled in the bathroom. She was crying, and I had no clue as to why, but still, I passed her Kleenex after Kleenex. The box was now damn near empty.

“Angel, you don’t have to lie. Whose baby is she carrying? I understand that she’s your best friend and everything. But you don’t have to lie.”

“Of course, she’s my girl. She’s like my sister, but lie about what?” I questioned. She gave me a knowing look. “Wait, you think it’s Kyron’s?”

“It has to be,” she cried.

“Do the math. Kyron passed seven or more months ago. Yes, it’s close, but not close enough. Plus, she had a DNA test done. So, chill out. It’s not his baby!” I handed her the last Kleenex. Where the fuck is her head? She gave me the look that said she didn’t believe me.
