- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
“I thought you didn’t want to wake the baby.” I held her tighter. “I’ma tell you this once: chill the fuck out and hear me out. If y’all can’t get y’all shit together, I’m walking on both of y’all. Nina, you know my situation and history with Kyra. Now, I’m trying to be a father to my children and a husband to the both of y’all. So, what the fuck do you want to do? You going to rock with me or do I gotta pay child support every month?”
“I curse the day I met you, and that dead bitch of yours.” Nina said in a calm voice. “Get the hell out of my house!”
I decided to act as if she didn’t just say that; I put her down and then turned and walked away. I wasn’t going anywhere, not just yet. I was looking forward to spending some time with the kids and my new baby son before I made my way back to the East Coast.
Chapter Two
Saturday morning
KAYLIN
I decided to enjoy the fruits of my labor before I prepared myself for the baby shower Angel had been planning; she was going all out for her girls. I stood admiring the view from my 23rd floor window inside of my plush, corner office at Game Over Records. I had locked the door and rolled a blunt just to get a little peace and quiet for a few minutes. This was how I cleared my head and enjoyed some time being still. Our team was celebrating a profitable 2nd quarter, and I was celebrating and showing gratefulness for having dodged the Mr. Li bullet. The previous quarter suffered because I was busy putting out the Li Organization fires. Matters that could have easily resulted in my death as well as Trae’s. We weren’t a hundred percent out of danger, but at least the Li situation was contained, and I could breathe easy for a few.
