- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
His face turned into a frown. “I gotta leave now. Wait here for Bo.” He leaned in and kissed my lips. “Wait for Bo,” he repeated and kissed me again.
He got up, went over to Dr. Baker, shook her hand, then said, “Thank you. Good-bye.” And rushed out.
After the examination, I sat in the waiting room waiting on Bo. While I was sitting there, my stomach felt queasy and all knotted up, but I dismissed the funny feeling. Bo sent me a text. He was on his way and would be here in about twenty minutes. I sent him a text.
Don’t get a ticket trying to get here. I’m good.
I figured now would be the time to use the restroom and change Taylour’s pamper.
I made it to the restroom at the end of the hall. I used the bathroom with the baby in the stall with me. I washed my hands, then changed her pamper on the changing table. Someone walked in the bathroom, but I didn’t bother to look up. As I was about to walk back out into the hallway, something hard was pressed into my back. My first thought was this can’t be happening. I was imagining it. “Don’t open your fucking mouth keep walking, or I’ll shoot you.” I immediately recognized the voice and understood why I had that queasy feeling in my gut.
It was Mari.
Trae was right. This bitch needed to die.
Chapter Thirty-Nine
MARI
I didn’t give a fuck what that bitch Tasha or anybody said, that baby was Kyron’s. Therefore, it was mine and I was going to do whatever I had to do in order to get what belonged to me. I was hiding behind a pair of big black shades and a floppy hat. That was the best I could do on such short notice. So far it worked. I spotted Tasha at the police department and had been following her ever since. I was there on a case of my own, so I was so surprised and then overjoyed when I saw Angel, Trae, and Tasha with the baby—Kyron’s baby. My baby. Heaven was shining its light on me.
