  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

There were cars parked in the circular driveway and in front of their big house. I saw the pink baby shower balloons and realized that now probably wasn’t a good time, but I had to pee. I stuffed the envelop in my purse, double parked and hopped out the car.

Kay was coming down the stairs. Damn. He resembled Kyron so much, especially when he smiled. It made my pussy thump, actually. What the fuck is wrong with me? He’s practically your brother!

“Hey, baby sis. What’s good? How are you?” He gave me a hug.

“I need to use your restroom. Do you mind?”

“Not at all. We’re just having a little get together.”

“I don’t want to intrude.”

“It’s all good.” He held the front door open for me and waved me into the house. I stepped into what looked more like a Christmas celebration than a baby shower. There were so many gifts spread all around. The mommy of this shower would not have to buy her baby anything for a very long time. “Red, look who stopped by?”

She turned around, surprised. “Mari?” Angel rushed over and gave me a hug. “What brings you all the way on this side of town? Is everything okay?” I could see her surprise turn into concern as she took a step back and looked me over.

“I’m okay. I needed to speak to Kay, and I figured since I was in the area, I might as well stop by. When I saw all of the cars, I started to turn around, but my bladder had other ideas.”

“Oh, no worries. I’m throwing my girls a little baby shower. Follow me. And you know I’m always glad to see you.”

Angel guided me to the bathroom, not introducing me to anyone. I caught a few glances as I followed close behind but my heart got caught in my throat when I saw Trae and Tasha. Together. I closed the door and rushed to do what I came inside to do. But I still saw her. I saw them. Or were my eyes playing tricks on me! Tasha and Trae were sitting on the sofa all cuddled up and lovey dovey. He was whispering in her ear. She was smiling and glowing. Does he know whose baby she is carrying?
