- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
Just that quick, she had made my heart melt. Just so adorable. She was wearing a red fluffy dress, white tights, and little T-strap shoes. She had a red bow on the top of her hair, which was long for such a young baby. She looked just like . . .
“Shit!” I dropped the diaper bag to the ground and looked at my baby closely.
“Nooo!” I screamed. “Damn it!” She looked just like Trae. Tasha was right. Trae spit this baby out. “This can’t be! This fuckin’ can’t be!”
“Hold it right there, ma’am. Drop the bag on your shoulders, raise your hands in the air. Step away from the vehicle. Now!”
The officer, or should I say officers had their guns pointed at me. I wasn’t going out without a fight, no, fuck that! I had come too far to just let these bastards win! I may just go out guns blazing, and if I did, I would make sure their precious little baby got hit too. If I didn’t have Kyron, then they wouldn’t have their baby. If I was hurting forever, they were going to hurt forever.

My childhood wasn’t normal; I had witnessed everything under the sun. Murders, kidnappings, drugs, money. The funny part was I was supposed to have been sheltered from those elements. My mother was very strict, and I attended private school. I was an only child so once my mother passed, I was left on my own.
I fell in love with math. I got excited every time I would help my uncle count his money. As we would count, he would drop little jewels on ruling the underworld. And each time he would pat my head and say, “Sina, one day you will have your own empire.”
Chapter Forty
KEVIN
“Where the fuck is that bitch?” The dude with the yuk-mouth screamed in my face.
“I told you. I don’t know!” My speech was slurred, and I could tell my jaw had been broken with that last blow. I could feel blood running down my face and onto my clothes.
With that, I was socked in the face again. I didn’t know how many more blows I could take. Earlier that evening, I was at the car lot about to close up shop, when these three niggas held me up at gunpoint just as I was locking the door. Although they had on face masks and wore all black, I knew they were niggas by their voices.
