“Fuck that, Kay! Your time is up. I’m going back to our house in California this week, and you won’t be able to stop me.”
“Your ass ain’t going nowhere until Trae says so. He asked me to keep an eye on his family, and I can’t do that with you way across the country. So, your ass ain’t going nowhere! Even if you have to be here another year, or however long it takes.”
That was when the door flew open and my wife looked as if she was ready to draw blood from my man. I stepped from behind him; when she saw me, the look on her face was priceless.
Angel yelled out, “That’s right! Surprise, bitch! I got your evil ass on video. You feel stupid right about now, don’t you? Go ahead and say it. You feel stupid, don’t you? Oh, I can’t wait to put this on blast.”
Tasha stood there speechless and in shock. Finally, she found her voice.
“Babeeee.” She covered her mouth as the tears welled up in her eyes.
“Now what? Say it, Tasha! Tell me I’m the man,” Kaylin boasted while pounding on his chest. “Go ahead! Tell me! Say it! I told you I was gon’ make the shit happen!”
“Nigga, leave my wife alone,” I told him as I grabbed her and hugged her tight. “Daddy’s home now.” I backed my wife into the bedroom and kicked the door shut. Everyone burst into laughter and applause.
Chapter Five
TASHA
Oh, my God! This was finally happening. The room was spinning, but my heart and head were no longer heavy. I couldn’t believe it. My baby! He’s finally home. Whoop! Whoop! Whoop! My baby is home! A few minutes ago, I was one angry, miserable— did I say angry—bitch! I could no longer hold it in. I was right at the edge, and God sent me an angel. My angel. Oooh, I was so happy. I had to pray right then and there.
Dear God, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I didn’t think you were real before, I am a believer now. You came to my aid when I needed you the most. I bear witness to your power. I needed this nigga. My nigga. My husband. Oh, I needed him!
“Babeee!, I squealed with delight I can’t believe you are finally here.”
