- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
“I don’t even care, as long as our daughter is healthy. Baby, I want to really, really, enjoy us again.”
“So do I, baby. I can’t believe I’m finally here with you. I can’t front, sometimes, shit would be looking bleak. And I would wonder if I ever was going to see you again.” Tasha and my kids were my world.
“But you’re home now, baby. And I’m still in love with you.”
Tasha moved close to me and kissed me on the lips. The kiss turned my dick from angry to happy. Now the challenge was to control myself until we got home. I had big plans for Tasha tonight. It was going down in the bedroom.
TASHA
Trae and I were still standing in the middle of the floor, hugging and talking, when we heard light but rapid taps on the door.
“Uh oh, Daddy. I think you have some little, anxious visitors. Somebody spilled the beans that their dad was in the house.”
“Hey, Ma! Mommy!” We heard our sons’ voices. The knocks were coming harder and faster.
Trae kissed me on the lips once again. “I love you,” I told him, not wanting to turn the love of my life loose.
“Love you more. Let me see my little troopers.” His eyes lit up.
Even though he always told me, “Tasha, you are my everything.” I begged to differ. Those boys were his everything. “Okay, but you gotta let me capture this moment.” I got my phone ready, and then motioned for Trae to stand to the side. I pressed record and opened the door halfway. “Guys, Mommy was trying to get some rest. What’s up?”
Caliph, our youngest tried to squeeze past me. “Ma, Aisha said my dad was here.”
“Is my dad here?” Kareem, one of the twins, asked.
“My daddy is here!” Shaheem, responded.
“My dad is not here. Just Mommy,” Caliph chimed in, obviously disappointed.
I stepped back, and Trae appeared. They all yelled, “Daddy!” in unison and bum-rushed him at the same time.
Priceless.
“Dad, Aisha said you was in jail. Are we going back to California? Is the lady mommy sicced the dogs on going to be there?” Shaeem asked.
Shit! Nosey and grown ass Aisha had a big mouth. How the hell do they know about some dogs? I decided to let Trae answer that. Let me see how he eases his slick ass outta this one.
Chapter Six
KYRA
What a baby shower! I thought. Angel, as usual, had to go over the top. Ice sculpture, valet, DJ, catered with a wait staff. Me personally, I would have kept it old school. I would have fried some chicken, made some pans of tossed salad, cut up some fruit, made a hat out of ribbons or some easy shit like that.
