  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

“I know. How do you think I feel? We’re in love with a man that’s in love with two women. We both want him to ourselves and that’s just something we can’t have, but instead of looking at the negatives, let’s look at the positives. Rick is a damn good man, and a damn good father. Instead of fighting each other, let’s come together, stick together and raise our kids to the best of our ability. Hell, if anything we’re winning,” I told her with confidence in my voice.

“How so?”

I could tell that I was going to have to school Nina on a thing or two, and I had no problem in doing so because I wanted to be stress and drama free from this point on.

“Look at it this way, not only is Rick a good man and great father, but you just got yourself a new best friend. I know it gets lonely not having anyone around but the kids. And on top of that, Rick has no problem with taking care of us. How are we not winning? I mean, if we’re not beefing, we could be enjoying each other’s time, shopping, going out for drinks and god knows what else. Shit, we can even leave the kids with his black ass.”

Nina chuckled at that last remark but then surprised me with what she said next. “I can’t tell you how long I’ve been trying to find a way to have this conversation with you. I looked at you as my enemy, but in reality, you’re just a woman like me who’s feelings were wrapped up in such a crazy situation.”

She was spot on with her response because both our feelings were wrapped up in Rick’s good dick having ass.

“So, are you down for starting over? Putting all the bullshit to the side and moving forward? Rick isn’t going anywhere. He’s not about to leave neither one of us alone.”

Now the ball was in her court. I knew that I was done fighting. I gave Nina a few minutes to get her thoughts together because I knew this entire conversation had her at a halt, but it needed to be done and not on Rick’s time.

“I’ma give it a shot,” Nina finally said.

Chapter Thirty-Three

JAZ

I texted Faheem. Again, for the fiftieth time.

We need to talk. Please come see me.

It had been weeks since my miscarriage, so I wasn’t thinking about sex. I just needed to know what was going on in Faheem’s head. I wanted him to hold me. I needed to know just how bad I fucked up, so I could at least have a beginning point on how to fix it. As of now, I had nothing.
