  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

“No you didn’t.” I laughed. “How you gonna place all of the blame on me? You the one who said you wanted to come until you fainted.”

“Whatever. And I didn’t say that.”

“Yes, you did.”

“I did not. But right now, I’m hungry. You never fed me my breakfast, only dick. Go find me something to eat, please.”

“Shit, you should be full as fuck off this big muthafucka,” I joked.

“Shut up, Trae! Please go get me something to eat.”

“Not until you tell me you love me.”

“I love you.”

“That was mighty dry. Sounds like you just said it to get me to hurry up and find you some food.”

“Trae, I’m hungry.”

“All right. All right. I’ll be back. But I’m still vexed that we can’t have any more fun until after the baby comes.”

“Me too. Now go get me something to eat. And I want to hear what my babies had to say.”

“Yeah, now that’s some funny shit. I’ll be back.”

As soon as I stepped out of her room, I reached for my cell to give Kay a call, but it went to voicemail. I called Angel and updated her about Tasha. I told her to tell Kay that I would still make the meeting tomorrow afternoon.

I got in the car and headed for the nearest spot to get Tasha something to eat. After I pulled into an IHOP, I called to ask her what she wanted. Turkey bacon, pancakes and eggs. I went inside and placed her order. Tasha also reminded me to bring her overnight bag out of the trunk. While waiting on her food, I went back to the car and popped the trunk. I grabbed the Louis Vuitton bag and it was on top of the envelope. I stared at it.

Fuck!

Did I really want to know what was inside? Now? Hell nah! I grabbed her bag, slammed the trunk, and placed her Louis Vuitton on the front seat. The envelope was calling me. Nigga you know you playin’ with fire, was my first thought, but then I said how much could it hurt? I had twenty minutes to kill anyhow so fuck it. I went back to the trunk, grabbed the padded envelope, and got back in the van. I opened the package. To my surprise, there was also a flash drive and an iPhone inside. I touched the screen.

Chapter Fourteen

KENDRICK

“Checkmate, my niggah.” I taunted B. Murder as he sat back from the chessboard and made circles with his blunt smoke.

He surveyed the board for the tenth time and smirked. “You got that off. I’m a little rusty.”
