  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

“I’m coming over now!”

“Jaz, I’m good. Marva is here, and Angel has the boys.”

“Where is he now?”

“He’s gone. I’m not sure where and don’t really care at this point when he’s coming back.”

“You know what? I’ll be there after I run my errands. And where is Angel? Wait. Hold on.” I called Angel and conferenced her in. “Angel, it’s me and Tasha. Can you go over and be with Tasha? I can’t get there until after I finish up at the college. I’m not sure what time that will be.”

“Is in labor?”

“No. She needs our moral support right about now and I can’t ….

“Jaz, I have her boys, Jahara, and my neighbors’ kids. Isn’t Marva there? What happened? Tasha, are you by yourself? All I can say is bring her over here.”

“Marva’s here, ladies. I’m good. I’m not going anywhere. Chill out. Jaz, get here when you can. And stop talking as if I’m not on the phone.”

“Tasha, what brought on the false labor? Too much dick? Slow ya ass down.”

“Angel, shut the hell up! The doctor has me on bed rest until I deliver.”

“So, it was too much dick. I told you to be careful. I guess Trae almost fucked that baby out of you.” Me and Angel started laughing.

“I’m about to hang up on y’all.” Tasha threatened.

“Wait. Not until you tell Angel what Trae did.”

“Jaz, no. I’ll tell her when I see her. You’re lucky I told you. Just be sure to stop by when you finish.”

“What? What did he do?” Angel probed.

“I’m hanging up. Jaz will fill you in. I don’t feel like talking about it right now.” Tasha said and hung up.

I looked up and my husband was taking off his clothes so there was no way in hell I was about to gossip with Angel. “I gotta go, Angel.” I hung up. Faheem was standing in the middle of the bedroom butt naked, dick long and hard.

His determination to get me pregnant was getting on my nerves. He was trying to fill the void that Lil’ Faheem left, but I knew I could have fifty kids, and it wouldn’t heal his broken heart.

For the last few months, he had been trying his darnest. So, I knew he was going to flip when he found out I was on the pill. I was too scared to tell him that I wasn’t ready to have another baby. I was dealing with too much stress. Trying to get situated with school. Relocating. Lil’ Faheem. The baby showers. It was all a little overwhelming. I didn’t need to have another baby. I would leave that to fertile myrtle Tasha; it was not my calling.
