“Well, I know you don’t expect me to accept this baby if it’s Kyron’s.”
“You know what! Fuck you, Trae! So, what are you saying? You wouldn’t love the baby, even though you say you love me? So much for being unbreakable, huh? So much for gettin’ back tight!”
“I’m just saying, if this baby comes out with them light ass eyes, I know it ain’t mine. We don’t even need no DNA test. Just be truthful, Tasha. We said no more lies.”
“You asshole! We have the DNA test results. What more do you need? You know what? Get the fuck away from me, Trae! I should have divorced your ass a long time ago.”
“Yo, those videos have my head all fucked up. But it’s a man thing, Tasha. You wouldn’t understand.”
“It’s a woman thing, nigga, when your husband fucks other bitches, gets them pregnant and gives you trichomoniasis. And then has the nerve to expect you to be all right with that dumb shit. Like I said, get the fuck away from me! Go take your meeting and I hope your ass never comes back.”
KAYLIN
The Meeting with Don Carlos
Trae rode shot gun as I drove to the airport to meet with Don Carlos. He had a twisted look on his face from the time I picked him up.
“So, Tasha gave us the ol’ false labor thing,” I joked, trying to break the ice, although Angel had already told me this.
“False labor it was.” Trae was curt and dry.
“Yo, you gotta get your head together for this meeting.”
“I’ll be ready by the time we land. You know that.”
“Nah, nigga. By the time we land? I need you ready now. What’s up? Is Tasha and the baby okay?”
“Yeah they good.”
“So, what’s the problem?”
“Maannnnn, I fucked around and watched those tapes.”
“Watched what tapes?”
“That package that Mari gave me. That bitch gave me recordings of your brother and Tasha fucking. A recording of him at the psych doctor talking about how much fun him and Tasha had and how in love they were. The shit is on tape.”
“Damn nigga, didn’t I tell you to leave that alone? Why didn’t you toss that shit? Now look at you. That shit is in the past. We got enough on our plate dealin’ with the here and now. We got Seven and the Kings possibly on some bullshit, the shit with the Don and Seven. You just getting out. Tasha getting ready to have the baby. Nigga you better say fuck that old bullshit!”
“I thought I could handle anything. But that….”
“Man it ain’t like you and Tasha just started a relationship. Y’all been married for years, nigga!”
“This shit is fucked up.”
