- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
I watched as Tasha went back to entertain our mystery guest. When she sat down, Trae got up and gave me eye contact. I knew that meant, let’s talk nigga. I was eager to hear what he had to say, and I saw the excitement on his face. I told Angel to be sure they kept her talking.
I closed the dining room double doors but before I could turn around, Faheem and Bo was knocking and barging his way through.
“What y’all niggas up to? Why y’all in here?” He closed the doors.
Trae had both hands rubbing his bald head pacing back and forth. “This is my first day home and already shit is getting turnt up in my life.”
“Nigga what up?” Faheem wanted to know.
“Yeah what?” Bo said.
“You never would believe who’s out there in your living room?” Trae said to me.
“Who nigga?” I questioned through furrowed brows.
“Her mother is Lola King.”
“Who the fuck is Lola King?” Bo and I asked at the same time.
Trae was looking at us as if we were stupid, as if we were supposed to know who he was talking about.
“Moe Mo Money King.” He stood back looking at us and waiting for a response.
Moe Mo Money King was a fucking hood legend. Hood legend had it that Bumpy Johnson gave him the game and he took it all the way to the next level. They got money together. This nigga was the man! Royalty in the streets.
“Get the fuck outta here,” Bo said.
“How do you know? If her mother is Lola King, then she is the granddaughter.” I told him.
“She has a necklace with a locket around her neck. The locket. She showed it to me. It’s a picture of Lola. She looks just like her. I’m telling you, that’s how I know. It’s his granddaughter.”
“If that’s the granddaughter of Moe Mo Money King, then that’s . . . Shit! Fuck me!”
“Yeah nigga. Now you see why I said my first day out and thing can’t get more turnt up.”
“So what if it is his granddaughter?” Bo wanted to know.
“What does that mean to us?” Faheem asked.
“The shit is a set up; they had to send her to us. For what? Shit, I don’t know.” I said.
Trae went back to the doors and cracked them again. This time I stood behind him and we stared at Seven. She sat calmly, seemingly without a care in the world as she spoke to our wives. “Yo, that shit is spooky. We got us a problem,” Trae said. Now, both Bo and Faheem were trying to get a peek.
“I’m not convinced,” I told them after a deep sigh. “I need more confirmation; what they want with us, yo? We out the game.”
