- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
Angel already knew who I was talking about. I knew everyone personally that was in my house, around my family. Even though I hadn’t seen Kevin in a while, he was Tasha’s family. Even Angel vouched for him. I knew about Kevin and what a fuck up he could be. And for him to be there with a chick that carried herself with an heir of distinction, caught my attention.
“Those shoes she got on…Sophia Webster only made six pairs.” Angel said as if I gave a fuck about how many shoes were made. However, this ain’t no ordinary chick.
Her saying that only confirmed that she picked up on the vibes as well.
“Tasha is already on her.”
“I know that, but what’s her name?”
“She introduced herself as Seven,” Angel replied.
“Seven, huh? What’s the baby’s name?”
“That’s Carlito. Isn’t he adorable?”
I kissed her on the forehead. “Adorable? We can go make a baby Carlito right now if you want to.”
“Don’t even try it, Kaylin.”
I held her tighter as I watched Seven. She was sitting across from Trae and Tasha. She appeared to be doing all the talking while Tasha was giving her undivided attention.
“What is she doing?” Angel asked me.
“Still talking, but it looks like Tasha is getting ready to get up. I need y’all to keep her talking.”
“I told you we got it.”
Tasha rushed towards us. She was sure to glide by Angel. “I don’t know what the hell Kevin been telling this chick. But I got to go to the bathroom. Meet me in the kitchen.”
We went to the kitchen to get debriefed by Tasha while Seven sat there talking to Trae.
“Ol’ girl is interesting. But Kev done told all of our business. He got this girl thinking we the Escobar family or some shit like that. I tried to tell her we ain’t doing that shit no more.”
“Where she from?”
“Ithaca and Scarsdale.”
“Girl has her own exotic used car lot. Her mother died of a broken heart, and with no warning. So she says she moves through life just like that, with no warning. Whatever the hell that means. And that was the basis of our conversation.”
“That’s it? You don’t have anything else? CPA? How else is she getting money?”
“How the fuck you think? She using my dumb ass brother. My brother is the front man; she put him on. Why she would risk what she built, I’m unclear on that, but I will have that find that out.”
I hoped Tasha did find out. Her vibe had me open. Ithaca? And Scarsdale? What type of nigga is she? The last time I checked only muthafuckas with money were from Scarsdale. What was she doing with Kevin, a street nigga? That wasn’t adding up.
