- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
I couldn’t help but call Trae and ask if he had listened to the recordings and looked at the videos. I couldn’t stand people like Tasha. She had a good man, but she was just greedy. Why did she have to fuck with my man and ruin what we had? I had waited years for Kyron while he was locked up, set up his business, and cleaned up his legal problems. We were planning on getting married. Now he was dead and gone with all my dreams and hopes for our future. I knew somehow, Kyron’s murder was indirectly tied to Tasha. Although Trae had a good alibi, he was in California and locked up when Kyron was murdered, I still knew it was tied into Tasha.
As far as I was concerned, that baby Tasha was carrying should have been Kyron’s and my baby, but he was too busy screwing Tasha when we went to Las Vegas. I knew that was Kyron’s baby Tasha was carrying. And since it was his baby, that baby might as well be mine. I was sure I could get Trae to give it to me, and if he didn’t, I’d just take what belonged to me.
“Kyron’s widow?” The line went silent, so I spoke.
“Yes. How are you?”
“What are you callin’ me for? . . . What? You want me to agree to fuck you because that would make you feel better since Kyron and Tasha fucked, right? Let me save you some time. It ain’t happening!”
No, he didn’t just say that. It didn’t sound like a bad idea though.
“That’s where you’re wrong. I was calling to see if you had a chance to check out the contents of my package. It’s not hard to see they were in love.”
“Look, Mari, I had you pegged differently. So, I don’t want to be disrespectful, but that was some ho shit. And them tapes ain’t shit. There’s nothing on them that I care about.” The line went silent again. I looked down to see that he had hung up in my face. I dialed him back because I wanted to discuss the baby or at least arrange a meeting, but it kept going to voicemail.
I couldn’t help but smile. Obviously, he had seen everything. I could hear it in his voice. I was going to destroy their relationship like Tasha destroyed mine.
Then I would get that baby. It was an eye for an eye.
Next, I called Tasha’s number, which I found in Kyron’s cell phone. She sounded like I woke her up when she answered.
“Hey, Tasha.”
“Who is this?”
“It’s Mari.”
