- Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health
“Well yo, that’s exactly what I’m telling you. I’ve got this good good that once produced, will turn the streets out, and make us billionaires. All I need from you is distribution down here.”
“Access? You mean you got a connect?” Ace probed.
“Naw, homie, you heard him right we gonna be the connect,” B. Murder clarified, adding, “This dope hasn’t even been released yet. Our crew got the patent on this shit!” B.Murder gave me dap. “Now you see why I said you had to meet this nigga?” He said to Ace.
“Shiiiit! When do we get started?” Ace was ready to rock out.
That was the exact type of energy I was looking for.
“We’ll talk on our second meet regarding percentages.” I replied, in a boss like tone. I was feeling like the shit. “Right now, the logistics of the roll out are being finalized.” I neglected to tell him that I didn’t even have the formula. However, a nigga was confident I could get it from Kaylin. Even if I had to kill him in the process. But in the back of my mind, the question kept gnawing at the edges of my conscience. Who are the Gresham Boys? Why the fuck do they sound familiar?
TASHA
“Push, Tasha, push.” Trae coached, wiping the sweat off my forehead. “You can do it.”
We had always done the Lamaze thing, but this time it wasn’t working for me and I was ready to quit. I did one final push, then heard the baby cry. “It’s a boy!” the doctor announced.
“A boy! The ultrasound showed a girl; I was supposed to have a girl!” I cried out in shock.
I looked down at the baby; he looked like Kyron. My God! What is Trae going to……
Suddenly, a nurse came and took my baby away, wrapping him in a white sheet.
“Where are you going with my baby?”
I was weak; my legs were still in stirrups as the doctor stitched me up. The nurse had a sinister look and the way she turned her back, I knew she was stealing my baby. My baby! Nooooooo! Suddenly, I woke up drenched in sweat and screaming. A Dominican nurse came rushing into the room.
“Are you all right, Mrs. Macklin?”
I stared at her, then around the room. “Where is my baby?”
I felt my baby move, and I looked at my stomach. Damn. I let out a deep sigh of relief. It was just a dream. But it seemed so real and I couldn’t help but wonder if my baby girl was in danger?
“Where is my husband? Is he back yet?”
“I last saw him in the waiting room. I’ll have him paged.”
