  43. Wahida Clark on Mental and Behavioral Health

“I wouldn’t suggest holding in your emotions. Talk about and share your feelings, or else you are going to wither away.” She began rubbing my back. “You know I can relate. I remember when I had my miscarriage before the twins and before Taylour.”

This chick. I couldn’t help but smile. I looked at Tasha with surprise. “Are you saying that you were upset about the miscarriage when you were most likely pregnant by Kyron? You have lost it.” I couldn’t believe my ears.

“Yes, I know. I did lose it. I mourned that baby, too.”

I sniffled. Tasha handed me a Kleenex. We sat there, both wrapped around our own thoughts, or should I say mistakes.

“I really, really fucked up this time, Tasha. I mean, think about it. Think about the circumstances. He wants another son so bad right now. He feels that it will make him whole again. And I get pregnant and lose the baby because of some birth control that I was taking that he didn’t even know about. I fucked up big time. Ain’t no coming back from this shit. I don’t see it.”

“Don’t say that. You know Trae and I have been to hell and back. Marriages must be able to take knocks. It makes the both of you and the love and respect for each other stronger. And it builds character. Trae swears we are unbreakable, and I believe him.”

“That’s good for you. But Faheem is acting like I murdered his seed in cold blood with an AK. He’s acting like I got rid of the baby in my stomach on purpose. Tasha, I didn’t even know I was pregnant.”

“Don’t worry. He’ll be back. You know how Faheem is. He blows up, but then he calms down. And before you know it, you’ll get pregnant again.”

“I wish. I’d give anything right now to even believe a smidgen of what you just said.”

“He’ll be all right.” Tasha reached down and hugged me. “Well, heaven just got another angel.”

“Tasha, heaven is right here on earth, not in the sky after you die. Faheem ain’t tryna hear that shit. You know who I’m married to. His son is gone.”

“Jaz, trust me. You will get pregnant again. I promise you. This is why Taylour is so special to me. She came out of the worse time of our marriage. Trae was in jail, the whole Kyron mess, and yet this beautiful baby girl was born.”

Tasha didn’t make me feel any better. She didn’t know Faheem like I did.
