I try to let my head drop, but the collar around my neck doesn't give me any room to, so I’m forced to watch as Nas takes his time recovering and putting away the toys he used on me. He wipes off the wand and pinwheel with sanitizer and puts them back into their respective places before he comes back to set me free.
Once I’m unrestrained, I nearly collapse into his waiting arms. Nas catches me like he knew I wouldn't have any energy left, and picks me up as if I weigh nothing. I feel like I’m floating as he carries me to the bathroom, placing me gently on the toilet so I can pee. He washes himself off in the sink while I finish, giving me plenty of time to clean up so I don’t get any sort of an infection, before lifting me again and carrying me over to the black bed, where he lays me down on my back before climbing in with me.
I want to protest, because I didn’t intend to fall asleep here and I know tomorrow morning is going to be a nightmare, but I don't have it in me. The best I can do is struggle to set an alarm on my phone before dropping it on the bed and watching it sink somewhere beneath the waves of sheets and covers. My energy has been zapped, and before my mind can revolt or my mouth can argue against it, my body seems to cave in on itself. My eyes close all on their own, and the last thing I feel is Nas’s gentle kiss on my forehead before my world fades to black.

A shift in the bed startles me awake. My eyes are slow to open, but my mind knows what’s happening. It’s late, and Nas has woken up to leave the room. I don’t know if he sets an alarm or just wakes up naturally, but he’s up and getting dressed beside me when my eyes finally open. He’s only wearing basketball shorts and a tank top as he folds my clothes and starts to move them from a crumpled pile on the floor to a neat stack somewhere else. He leaves my view for a moment, but when he comes back, I shift in the bed, drawing his attention.
“Oh, hey.” He says it like I just caught him with his hands in the cookie jar.
“Hi,” I reply. I try to sit up but the pain in my body is immense. My muscles feel coated in cement, stiff and rigid in a way that makes me want to play dead and never move again. I grunt and moan with every movement and Nas jumps into action.
