Taggy, for his part, grew old on the rock. Some nites he just used to stare up at the stars and wonder what went wrong with his life.
Loose Promise
Loose Promise
She lived in a room with a green carpet. She didn’t go out very much but she said it did not matter the green always reminded her of outside and anyway no one really went outside anymore because of the steady and persistent rain that fell all the time and which was according to the weatherguys only mildly radioactive.
On the wall was a photograph of a place that Jesus had been once – the sea of Galillee. She did not know much about Jesus. The story of him and the Wise Men, the story of him and the Bikers and Hell’s Angels, the story of him trading in his car with these wise guys that ripped him off and how he tried to punish them. But not much. Plenty of other people knew more than she did. Some nights the phone rang and at the other end there was a voice saying did she know about Jesus and she would say no, not so much and the voice would ask if she wanted to know more and she would say no, maybe another time because Frankie was coming over.
Mostly when Frankie came over it was a violent occurrence. He lived in another reality that was what he said and she never knew if that was something she should take literally or if it was something she should take more like a metaphor – more like a description of his state of mind. She liked metaphors. When the man at the Hospital asked her if she was feeling OK after a murder that she witnessed she said that her heart was hungry and he said your heart cannot be hungry that is not biology and she said yes, yes but she did not mean it that way. That man at the hospital did not know shit about the metaphors.
Frankie was like a big shot and somewhat famous from appearing on All New Home Torture Tapes 3. The third clip on the tape was him, from when these guys were using a cheese grater on his knees. It was fucking hilarious. That is what Skank Pubis the presenter of All New Home Torture Tapes said. It was totally hilarious. A fucking classical.
