She sighed and placed a hand on my knee. “Look, honey, as your and Sarah’s mother I wanted to see you getting along again, and I pushed that too far. As someone who loves you deeply, I’m not saying you should forgive Sarah or Logan. Or that you should forget it ever happened. You have every right to be very upset, believe me, the rest of us were furious. We couldn’t talk to either of them for months. But, slowly it all came around. What they did was selfish and wrong. I still feel sick for you when I think of what you had to see that night. But, I am the first to tell you that love doesn’t understand what’s right or wrong. Sometimes love has no boundaries, and I think they found that out in an instant. Logan and Sarah look at each other like they’re the only two people on Earth. It’s the same way Finn looks at you, like you are the only one in the room.”
I paused. “Wait, what?”
Mom rolled her eyes. “Do I have to repeat the whole thing?”
I shook my head. “No, what was that last part…about Finn.”
She tilted her head. “I said he looks at you like you’re the only one in the room.”
I was hit with the memory of Finn and me at the cafe.
“Oh, come on there’s got to be somebody. What does it take to be qualified as Olive Moore’s boyfriend?”
“I don’t know. I want someone who will look at me like I’m the only person in the room.”
I choked up again for what felt like the hundredth time tonight. When my head dipped and I sniffed, Mom pet my hair.
“Oh, honey. He’ll be back, and you two will be fine I promise.”
I almost told her then. That Finn was a stranger twelve days ago, and we simply played a game with each other for as long as I was in town. Instead, I put my head on her chest like I did when I was a little girl, and my shoulders shook with sobs as she patted my back.

After a rough night of sleep, I finally got the courage to text Finn.
Me: Can we talk?
Hottie from seat 15B: I get off at 2.
I anxiously waited around all day for two to come around. I worked as much as I could, read on my Kindle, helped Mom cook breakfast, anything to make time go faster. When one rolled around, I went straight to the lodge and waited in the lobby for him, right where we sat last time. I prayed he would get off early because I was so anxious.
After my talk with Mom last night, I figured I had two options:
