Author Note
I enjoy reading dark books. Personally, I wouldn’t place You Are The Reason in the dark romance genre, however there may be some topics mentioned within this book which you may prefer to avoid. For a list of these, you can find them on my website.
I began writing this manuscript twelve months ago. I was in quite a dark place and desperately seeking a healthy outlet. One day my partner asked me to think about hobbies I once enjoyed, back before we had kids, back when I had time to do things ‘just for me’. So, I decided to pick up a book. It had been fifteen years since I had read a book! Fifty Shades of Grey — E L JAMES … Yes, I’m looking at you. However, that day was a game changer. I devoured Brit Benson’s whole catalog on KU before deciding to start jotting down words when my emotions became too much; another outlet I once enjoyed. I wrote with my moods and before too long, there was half a story on the page. All I had to do was go back and fill in the gaps.
