For the Avoidance of Doubt

For the Avoidance of Doubt

One day all the Gods of Endland (sic) started drinking at lunchtime for no particular reason and come late afternoon kind of regretted it – getting increasingly snarky/being too long in the sunshine and/or wishing they’d not had that last glass of Rum or whatever/or wishing that someone – most likely themselves – had not lost or not sat on their fucking sunglasses. All over Mt. Olympus rows were breaking out all and anywhere, incl. old ones resurrected and entirely new ones just appearing out of nowhere, voices raised, plates smashed and a couple of punches thrown before even 3pm was not a good sign.

It was always the same when the booze was involved tbh and if you asked Odysseus or anyone else of the older crowd of Gods – Carthorse, Xylophone, Mr Crinkle, or even Aspidistra – every1 just needed to KEEP CALM THE FUCK DOWN A BIT AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH, but obvs no one was asking them, they wasn’t even asking themselves. It was like the poets say “as if a all too human madness gripped them”, tho in true truth it was more like the kind of foolishness that always gripes Endland whenever the sky is blue and there is a air-traffic control strike or the weather is any warmer than 20 degrees.

After Saturn V and Gemini were separated from (their fight with) Soyuz and Acapella and while Leap Frog was taken off to the bathroom by Pac Man to wash the blood off her Prada onesie things calmed down a little but it was that kind of calm that always has potential to go absolutely apeshit again at any moment. No one knew what to do really. It was just too hot with all the GLOBAL WARMING OBVIOUSLY BUT NO ONE LIKED TO SAY THAT it was like a Elephant in the room. Pin Stripe, Tabernacle and Greenfingers started an ‘important conversation about morality’ © or mortality © but they were slurring their words so much no one knew which for sure and in any case when Vulva joined in she just kicked into a big rant about divorce in Northern Ireland, no one understood why, so few of them had even been there for yrs it was hard to see why it was suddenly such a big topic. Apollo 12 meanwhile started chasing some of the younger Gods around insisting they wrestle him etc but Rent-a-Gob, Michelle, Chlamydia, Vostok and Zombie were not really interested in that or in any of his stupid antics they were much more intrigued with what Magpie, Catnip, Clymenestra, Stormzy, Thumper & Co were getting up to in bushes at the other end of the terrace/garden.
