  48. About Author

I smiled and put an index finger over my mouth, the universal gesture for be quiet. I opened the door to a gated area that had one of the largest hot tubs on the resort. I usually came here after my shift if I needed to relax, or on the off chance they had any parties or events back here that Coop and I were invited to. Since it closed two hours ago, according to the sign on the gate, I was left with no choice.

I threw the towels over the tall white gate and backed up.

“Finn. What are you doing?” Olive asked like she didn’t already know the answer. I took a running jump and climbed the fence, dropping down silently on the other side. I opened the gate wide and waved my hand for her to come inside.

She had her arms crossed and legs tucked together, clearly freezing. “Are we going to get in trouble for this?” She asked, her teeth chattering.

“Nah. It’s fine.” I hope.

My hand intertwined with hers, and I pulled her along. There was a small walkway that led to a big hot tub, the snowy mountains serving as a gorgeous backdrop. Olive looked between the tub and me and raised her eyebrow in confusion.

“I don’t have a swimsuit.”

I grinned, thinking maybe it would be better if she didn’t have a swimsuit. I lifted my eyebrows twice and winked.

“I am not skinny dipping with you in twenty-degree weather,” she said, crossing her arms as if to seal her point.

Can’t blame a guy for trying.

I shrugged. “You can just wear my shirt.”

I had an undershirt beneath my button-down, and seeing her in my clothes didn’t sound like a bad idea.

Olive watched me closely as I unbuttoned my shirt. I slowly peeled it off me then tugged off my white undershirt. I reached an arm out to her, my undershirt dangling off my fingers. Olive’s eyes trailed across my abs and up my chest, her mouth frozen, and her cheeks that pretty shade of pink I loved so much. She opened her mouth and shut it, like she couldn’t get out whatever was crossing her mind. Judging by the color spreading across her face and her nervous fidgeting, I could guess what was going on in that pretty little head of hers.

“Enjoying the view?”

She tore her eyes from me and turned to the real view of icy mountains and shining lights around us.

”Mhm,” she mumbled in agreement, and my cheeks hurt from grinning.

She grabbed the shirt forcefully from me, and when I didn’t make an attempt to move or look away, she spun her finger, gesturing for me to turn around.
