“Why do you seem so nervous? You’ve been seeing each other for a while, right?” Taylor asked, picking up on my anxious habits of staring off into space and twiddling my fingers.

“Oh, you know…We’re still in that honeymoon phase, so I get a little nervous about our dates.” I prayed that sounded believable.

Taylor’s smile told me everything I needed to know. “Young love is so sweet. I remember those days with Matt, when everything was so fresh, and you’d stay up late talking and just holding each other. And other stuff too, you know.” She winked, and I cringed.

“Okay, one—“ I said and held up my pointer finger, “—you are only three years older than me, so don’t act like a grandma. Two, ew. I didn’t need that mental image of you and my brother together.”

She shrugged. “I’m just saying. If you need any tips for the bedroom, I could hook you up. I have read so many articles that I’m pretty much the master. These hands have some magic in them.”

She gave me a jazz hands pose, and I shut her down quickly. “Okay, perv. I’m good, no thank you. I do just fine in that department.”

My cheeks burned as I pictured doing any of that with Finn. A man hadn’t touched me in so long that when I hopped on Finn’s shoulders yesterday, arousal stirred deep in my stomach. My palms sweat and the hair on my arm raised. I figured that kind of intimacy was common for him, judging by his charming and flirty attitude. But for me, when I had my thighs around his neck and my hands in his hair, it was like having a big red button that said don’t push me. But oh, did I want to push that button. Me and that button could have a good old time together.

“Hey, Olive, Finn is here!” I shook myself to the present at the sound of Mom’s voice.

Taylor looked at me. “Just remember, whenever you guys get to the bedroom—“

I pointed my finger at her. “Don’t even think about finishing that sentence. I mean it.”
