I couldn’t help but laugh at Olive’s poor attitude about bringing her family up here. At dinner last night, it seemed like everyone but her was excited to come..

So, what would it take to get her excited?

My mind wandered to a private place with Olive facing away from me in that heart-stopping dress from last night. She would look back at me with those pretty green eyes and her perfect lips slightly turned up. Her long blonde hair trailed down her fit, but feminine, back. My eyes would slide down to her perfect backside and—Cooper’s voice shook me back to the present. “You good, man?” I must have been staring off in space.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” I had to get my mind out of the gutter. But it was such a nice gutter.

“So, you just have no clue what to do when they get here?” Cooper asked and I wasn’t sure how to answer. I didn’t have plans. I wasn’t a plan kind of guy. I was the show up last minute to a random girl’s family dinner and pretend you’re her boyfriend kind of guy. Should I have made a plan for this? I didn’t even think about it.

“Um…” I trailed off, making it obvious I had nothing on the itinerary for today.

“You gotta get some clue of what to do. You like this girl, right?”

Did I? I mean, was I attracted to her? Absolutely. Could she be a great distraction from being alone for the holidays? Sure. Did I possibly want to sleep with her? Certainly. Wait. What was his question?

“Judging by your face I’ll take it as a yes,” Coop continued. “So you need to get a few moves ready.”

“Moves? I don’t need moves.” I flashed him my normal cocky grin only for him to knock me down a peg.

“You just said she was ‘unattainable.’ You need moves.” Maybe he was right. My usual tricks of throwing her a flirty smile and telling her I work with kids didn’t even strike her. How do you impress the girl who seems unimpressed by everything?

“So, what am I supposed to do?”

He sat down on the bench and tapped the empty seat next to him, like a creepy Santa in the mall asking me to sit in his lap. I hesitated, but relented after a handful of seconds, trudging over and plopping down next to him.

“You gotta do a little more than usual, but not too much because her parents are there. If she hasn’t done this in a while, show her how to ski. You can put your hands on her hips or hold her hands if she’s wobbly.”
