Finn lifted a hand to my face. “Ahh come on, Grinch. It’ll be alright.” He wiped my tears. “It’s got a good ending.”
I nodded and sniffed again. “I know.”
He pulled my head into the crevice between his neck and his shoulder. “Who knew my Grinch had such a soft side for George Bailey?”
I let out a sad chuckle and pushed his chest.
With the movie over, he wrapped both arms around me. I turned my head to check the time and noticed how late it had gotten.
“Do you mind if I stay the night?” I asked sheepishly. I don’t think I’d ever asked a guy if I could stay the night, and it felt weird doing so. Like inviting yourself to the third-grade sleepover that you overheard about during recess.
“I was planning on it. When else would you have shown me all the tips Taylor gave you?” He winked, and my cheeks flushed. I made a note to kill Taylor the next time I saw her.
Finn tapped my leg, and I moved it off his lap. “Go ahead and pick whatever you want to watch next. I’ll get you some clothes.” He handed me the remote and stood.
I set the remote down when he walked away, instead standing and making my way over to the large windows that overlooked the city. I felt like we were in a museum, looking out into the display of art that was Aspen. Finn shuffled back in the room with dark sweatpants and white t-shirt for me to sleep in. I swept down the hall to the bathroom to change and when I came back, he was moving two chairs in front of his big windows.
“What are you doing?”
Finn turned around at the sound of my voice and looked my ridiculous outfit up and down. I was at least a foot shorter than Finn with a lot less muscle so I practically drowned in his clothes, and I couldn’t help but laugh, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. But seeing him now, the way his eyes twinkled and lips twisted into a smile, I no longer cared what I wore as long as he always looked at me like that.
“You look like you’re being swallowed. It’s cute.” He jerked his head to the seats he’d moved, and I hopped in the one on his right.
