He wanted to cross behind her desk and give her a hug, but he also wanted to respect her space. Maybe if hed thought a little bit more about what Ashley did or didnt want, it wouldnt be so awkward now. He hated that it had taken this long to see his own behavior in this new light. Hed been too caught up in his work and his patients needs to step back and take a good long look at himself.

Dont mention it. She waved him off. Seriously, really dont mention it. I could get in a lot of trouble for having told you that much. Now go. I have work to do.

Morgan let himself out of her office, the sheaf of papers nearly burning in his hands. The answer was in there. He could feel it. No way was he going to waste time going home before he dug into the information.

He hurried to his office, waving to the receptionist at the desk in the waiting room as he rushed through. Once there, he shut the door behind himself.

Settling himself behind his desk, he booted up the computer and laid the papers out. Some names he could cross off his list automatically. Ayres, for example. He was still here. Morgan also crossed off all of the female doctors. Most of the names were familiar and he moved through the list quickly as he crossed off anyone that hed worked with recently as well.

There were a few names that either didnt ring a bell or were people he hadnt seen in a while. Those he searched for on the computer. Most of them still worked at Georgetown. There were two that had taken positions at other hospitals. He put question marks by those names in case they hadnt relocated voluntarily.

There were three doctors who had retired. All three of them were in their seventies and he doubted they would have the physical strength to do what their unsub had done.

Then he hit a name he recognized, but not in a good way. Ward Dolan. Morgan hadnt had to work with him often, but every time he did he walked away annoyed. The guy was condescending and entitled. He wasnt a bad doc, but he rubbed Morgan the wrong way pretty much every time they crossed paths.

Come to think of it, one of those times had been because of an off-color remark Dolan had made about a patients breasts. Morgan had been so shocked, he hadnt said anything.

He typed Dolans name in to the computer. He no longer appeared on the Georgetown University list of attending physicians. Then Morgan tried a general search. It didnt look like Dolan had moved to another hospital, either.

He pulled out his phone and texted Danielle. Ive got a lead.

She texted back. Ill pick you up in twenty.
