Look, your resume is ready. Wow. It looks great! That font is so eye-catching. It really wakes up the eye! It will definitely grab the attention of the interns and office assistants who open up the mail and sort the hundreds and hundreds of submissions that businesses are receiving these days when they post job openings. Oh, wait, um. I don't know if this matters to you, but in your address? It looks like your street name isn't capitalized. I mean it's totally minor but it's one of those details that could put you straight in the "No" pile. Ugh, I hate niggling things like that! That's another fifty buckaroos to recopy! Bummer! You should ask me to proofread next time!
Oh what great timing, my manuscript is ready.
Could you just put that on my CAA account? Thanks so much.
So I leave you now, my dear. You be good to yourself, you hear me? Bye.

Oh. My. God. Now this is a sight I thought I would never see. The last dilettante of Clarkwell College . . . of AMERICA, with a full-time job! I mean I know you have worked all your adult life but this seems significant. Wow you actually look good all tucked in and officey. Well congratulations. Welcome to the real world. I guess your credit card debt caught up to ya, huh? Ha ha.
Do you know what's in the international food line? I hope its Antillean chicken again. I just want some simple greens and a small spiced chicken breast. That's all I really need. So what's on the menu? You don't know? But I thought you worked here.
OH oh oh oh. I am so spaced out. I thought you said you worked HERE—like you were the new buffet line attendant. You work at a magazine?
Wowee, you have come a long way. A LONG way. Congratulations! It makes so much sense because you seemed sort of low energy at Kinko's. People with nine to five jobs have all this built-up negativity from working all week and then it's so hard to enjoy yourself on the weekend, right?
Ha ha, I was just thinking about you today. About how we used to laugh about that Burning Man trip. That Burning Man trip, remember? Wow you were trashed. The pictures of you are chilling. And there was that dust storm . . . hahahaha. I was rushing around like crazy making sure you were hydrated, saving your life, hahahaha.
Wait! Stay and talk! Tell me your news!
Where are you working? Kids' Vogue? How great. Wow. I thought that was being discontinued. No, sorry. I just heard. Well no worries. Once you get in this building you pretty much never leave, so I am sure that you can roll over to some position of equal or lesser stature at another book.
