Oh my God for real? That's like the new 8-track. You should you know invest a little in your future and fork over some dough to get it on DVD. It's just so much easier. No one watches tapes anymore. But you know . . . it's all good. We spend so much time in life doing what we do, learning. Look at it this way: if you were always doing something that you loved you probably wouldn't love it.
It's like this argument that Meyer Shapiro made in the fifties about the Modernists. What? Shapiro? Oh my God, that's beyond so interesting that you don't know who he is. Anyway—no, I'm not laughing, I'm just—it's just that he's like the preeminent art critic of the twentieth century—no, of course, I'm not like: "Ha ha, you don't know who he is." I mean, there are so many things you DO know about from your Folk and Myth major in college that I don't know anything about, like that amazing Ndembu Indian custom that you always bring up in conversations with new people we just met? No, no, I'm not saying that, I'm just kind of astounded. Shapiro. Anyway. It's all good. You just don't bury yourself in books like I do, which is great. You're not a reader.
Well now you're sober so you'll have PLENTY of time . . . Oh! Do you have an extra Altoid? You don't? I just heard something joggling around in your pocket.
Oh, it's your Askalar. Oh wow I've never seen that kind of Ascalar pill before!
Well good for you. I am so sorry, but I really have got to bolt!
Andy! We've got to hurry! We still have to pick up Jacob!!
Sorry. You know, I have to say, you look really grounded.
Andy!
Like you're really more solid now, more in your skin.
Andy!
You were kind of always, you know, sort of "wacka-wacka"—like running around all over the place or whatever—but you seem so solid and substantial now. It's like you're a really big fat person spiritually, a really solid individual! Is Askalar really helping? Well great then. I have to say I am so glad to hear a positive story about that drug to counter all those reports out recently. About how it numbs your creativity, adds permanent water weight, etc.
OK. Have fun at the party! It's sort of dying down now but I'm sure you can still Get Your Freak On! See you later!

Thanks so much for coming! That's so nice of you to come. But wait. Forgive me but I kind of think I didn't invite you . . . I mean by accident, because I just sent invitations out to a few select—
Oh that's right you used to have an internship here at Bonwyck . . . before I became Board Chairperson. That's right. Before the big '90s art boom, right right. Simpler times. Ooop! Hold on—
