I bent my arm like his, and he placed Rose in my arm. He took my other arm, placing it under her body. I felt another swell of emotions making my eyes sting as my brothers stood close to me.

“You guys look good with a baby,” Kelsey said, making me look up at her and Jane.

Jane looked at us with an appreciation in her eyes. For the first time, I wanted a kid, and I wanted one with Jane. A weird caveman feeling of having my baby, or any of our babies in her, gave me a sick satisfaction. Fuck. This is ridiculous. I’m around a baby for less than a day and I’m already having weird feelings about kids and having them with Jane.

“You guys look good.” Jane’s blush turned a shade darker. “Ok, well, I’m so glad you are doing well. I have to finish my shift and if I get a chance, I will come back and check on you.”

“So, I was able to get an extra plate. I know it’s not much, but I couldn’t leave you hanging,” the previous nurse said, barging into the room.

She looked at me, then took a glance at Aiden and Nate, too. “Oh, I didn’t realize there were more of you,” she took on a sultry tone. “I thought you said the dad wasn’t in the picture.”

“Seriously?” Kelsey snapped.

“I’m sorry honey, here’s your food.” She put the food on the table for my sister, but kept glancing at us like we were a Las Vegas buffet. “So, no one is the dad, right?”

“None of them,” Jane retorted.

I took a quick glance at Jane, seeing the fury in her gaze. She took a deep breath, rolling her eyes and walked out the door.

“Well then, I could possibly get you guys some food if you really need me to.” This nurse was laying it on thick.

“I think your attention is better served elsewhere, like on Kelsey.” Nathan said with a sharp tone.

She looked taken aback. “Oh yeah, of course, I just like to make sure…”

“Kelsey, do you need anything?” Aiden’s commanding voice came out. She shook her head no. “Then we won’t be needing anything else.” His tone was a clear dismissal.

“Uh…Yeah of... of... of... course.” She stammered, leaving the other tray and exiting the room quickly.

“That was disgusting. Can’t believe she was flirty with you guys and no shame either,” Kelsey said, as she unwrapped the food that was left. She wrinkled her nose, not liking what she saw.

“Eat. You need your strength.” I ordered.

She rolled her eyes. “I know, but it looks awful.”

“Eat enough and we can go get you breakfast in a few hours.” Nate tried to pacify her, and it worked.
