“I honestly don’t know. I know I usually drink to get shit-faced so I don’t have to feel anything.  It is possible that I drank that much but… I feel like that wasn’t the case this time, but then I don’t know for sure.”

She got out of bed and went to her closet. She came out fully dressed.

“Jane, what is going on?” I asked, getting up too and pulling on some boxers, alarm coursing through me.

“Someone needs to say shit to her.”  She threw her hair up and walked out of the room.

“Uh Jane!” I yelled, trying to buckle my slacks up and forgoing it so I could chase her. I didn’t know what Jane planned to do or how she planned to find Candy.

“Hey, beautiful,” I heard Callum greet her, but she said nothing.

“Whoa, where are you going, gorgeous?” Aiden followed her, and I caught up to her.

“Did you know Candy possibly drugged him again?” She asked.

“Uh… We didn’t know for sure, but we thought it was a possibility.” He answered her.

“Why aren’t we doing anything?” She snapped.

“We don’t have proof, darling,” I answered her, trying to get closer to her.

“We need to say something because this is complete bullshit.” Fuck, I thought I had seen all sides of Jane, but I was wrong. Her protectiveness was sublime. She was a fucking queen right now and if I needed another sign that I was her fucking hers, then I was a dumbass. Other than the guys and Natalie, I’ve never had someone care for me so much and that terrified me more than I’d care to admit.  It was so comforting.

Jane

What the hell was wrong with the guys? I can’t believe they would allow this to happen, and she would fucking try it again. What the hell had happened between all of them to make her do this?

“Am I missing something?” I asked, still mad.

“What do you mean?” Cal asked.

“Why aren’t you guys more mad at her? She could have really hurt Nathan or caused an overdose.” I didn’t know why this didn’t phase them at all.

“Jane, baby. We don’t know for sure if she did anything.” Aiden was trying to placate me, but it only made me more upset.

“She was with him both times that he didn’t have any memory of what happened that night. I feel like that’s pretty fucking suspicious.” He reached for me, and I pushed his hand away. “We need to at least show her we are on to her, and that next time she does this, it won’t be pretty.”

“Calm down, killer.” Cal held me from behind. “We talked to her, and she knows better now.”
