He smiled as he left me there. I sat looking at the guys, trying not to notice how efficiently they worked together. Nathan worked on getting food, Callum cleared a space, while Aiden was getting drinks out of a bag. In the time I had spent with them, it seems they worked better together. I wonder how they would look working together on me?
I turned away from them to look at the falls, needing to clear my head and the sexy thoughts I kept having about them.
“Jane?” I looked back to see Aiden next to me, holding a small first aid kit. It was very déjà vu since he patched me up last time. “Let’s get you sorted out.”
I nodded, not trusting myself, especially since his voice was affecting me so much and I desperately wanted to jump into his arms and savor the feeling of Aiden. I regretted nothing had happened between us. I was also grateful because I think if Aiden and I had gotten together, this would be so much worse. And if all of us had had sex, I think they would have ruined me for the rest of my life.

Aiden
I laid out the first aid kit next to Jane and sanitized my hands before handling anything that might touch her cuts. Pulling out everything I needed, I inspected her hands, seeing that it wasn’t too bad. I glanced up at her, watching her staring out into the distance. It was alarming how much I wanted her to look at me, say something, even if it was, I hate you.
“I’m just going to rinse out the cuts and then bandage them up. Nothing looks serious,” I said, hoping this was the icebreaker she needed to say something.
“Uh huh,” was all she responded.
I clenched my jaw in exasperation, hating that she was acting like this, that we made her like this. We broke that trust we had, and my behavior at the fight was inexcusable.
Jane inhaled sharply as I found a small rock embedded in her skin. “Sorry, there’s another one.” I grabbed the tweezers, pulling out a splinter. Looking up, she was finally looking at me with a flat expression. Her normally bright hazel eyes now looked even sadder. Guilt tore through me as I remembered what Kelsey had said. She deserved better.
“I’m sorry,” I said, wrapping one hand in gauze.
She shrugged her shoulders like what I said didn’t matter.
“I know you don’t want to hear what I have to say, but I do owe you an explanation. We all do. Can you please hear me out first?”
“What for? What’s done is done.” She went back to looking at anything but me.
“I know, but just hear me out, please.” I sprayed some Neosporin on her other hand, forgoing wrapping it because it wasn’t as bad.
