“You can sit on that bench. I’m going to get some more stuff.” I saw him warily look around the room, and then his eyes landed on Callum.

“Who is this?” Aiden asked cautiously.

“Dev, meet Aiden and Callum.” Nathan made the introductions.

I walked back to Dev, noticing him nodding at them, too. He wasn’t as tall as the guys, so it was easier to push his shoulders down to sit. I got to work on his cheek, and I checked his hands. It was quiet as I worked. I could feel everyone staring at me. I even noticed Dev looking at me a few times.

“Alright, that should be good,” I said, grabbing a few ice packs. “I would ice your face a little tonight, and it might be good for your knee, too. I noticed a few times you looked stiff, like it hurt. Take some naproxen to help with the swelling.”

I gave him the ice packs and cleaned up my mess, still feeling Dev’s eyes on me. I looked at him to make sure he was ok.

“Thank you.” His raspy voice gave me chills, and I felt like that was a phrase he rarely used.

“You’re welcome.” I don’t know why I blushed, but my face felt instantly hot.

He stood up, leaning over to grab his bag, when Callum reached for me and pulled me back. “She’s ours,” he growled.

Dev stood still, looking confused. He held his hands up like he meant no harm. He pulled on a sweatshirt and left the locker room.

“Seriously, Jane?” Callum snapped.

“What? I did nothing,” I said, confused.

“Don’t think we didn’t see that blush.” Aiden scrutinized me.

“Oh, for fuck’s sake guys, you know I blush at everything.” I rolled my eyes. “You know I only have eyes for you, and why did you pull me away?”

“It looked like he was going to kiss you.” Callum responded first.

“Seriously? He was getting his bag. Don’t project, I know you’re mad that I left.” I restocked my supplies in my belt.

“That was reckless, Jane,” Callum argued.

“I just took ten grand off your debt for less than an hour of work,” I said, keeping my attention on my supplies, hoping this didn’t turn into a fight.

“Nothing is easy with Lucio,” Aiden said, running a hand through his long hair. “We were just worried.”

“I know, but I had to do this, and I was with Nathan.” I sat down, looking at Aiden and Callum.

“She’s right, she just took a huge chunk off your debt. You should be grateful and say thank you.” Nathan sat next to me.

“He could have done something to her. It seemed like he wanted to get her away from us.” Callum glared at Nathan.

“Well, like she said, I was with her, and nothing was going on,” Nathan sneered.
