“Are you sure you conveyed that? I feel like she is a woman who needs to be reminded several times before she gets it through her thick, fucking, skull.” Aiden and Nathan laughed.
“We all made sure she knew where she stood with us. Aiden ended up throwing her out not too long ago,” Nathan said, and I stiffened immediately.
“Nothing happened, Jane,” Callum said, when he saw the obvious change in my body. “She came over, and we all yelled at her. Aiden told her to leave.”
Once he explained, I felt stupid for my reaction. I had no right to be acting like this. We hadn’t officially said anything about what we were, and I felt like asking was juvenile. I mean, as adults, did people still ask if you wanted to be their girlfriend? Would they all be my boyfriends?
“Jane?” Cal whispered in my ear. Aiden and Nathan came closer, looking at me with curious expressions.
“Babe. She means nothing to us.” Cal kissed my neck. I pulled away from his embrace and got some distance. They all looked at me with different levels of concern, and I just felt so unsure about all of this and what we were doing.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be acting like this.”
“You have every right to be acting like this. I would be worried as hell if some guy you slept with before you met us, was still hanging around.” Aiden looked at me with a possessive stare.
“Oh…” I said, feeling put at ease.
“Did you think we wouldn’t?” Nathan asked, looking like he wanted to step a little closer to me.
“Honestly?” I asked, still worried that I did not know what I was doing, and I didn’t know how people got into relationships nowadays. Henry asked me to be his girlfriend after one night at the movies. We were still in college, and had been on a few dates. We fell into this straightforward relationship, but now it was almost eight years later, and not only did I have one man interested in me, I had three. Did it even matter what we were?
“Honestly,” all of them responded.
“I’m just not sure where we all stand.” I whispered, worried that I was making this into a bigger deal than it really was.
“I thought last night was a pretty good sign of where we stood.” Aiden looked at me, still confused.
“I think she means relationship-wise,” Callum said, looking at all the guys and dread was forming in my stomach. This was it. I was an idiot for trying to put a label on it.
“Oh… you want to know what we are?” Nathan asked.
I nodded my head, getting ready to bolt. I knew I shouldn’t have asked.
“Do you want to be our girlfriend?” Aiden was looking at me, amused.
