- Don't miss out!
“I do. A man in his position needs to make sure everything is secure and I’m sure that’s what he’s waiting for. Plus, with him being a lawyer, I wouldn’t put it past him to hide some accounts and move money around.”
“I hope for G’s sake, he does it quick.” I laid my head down on Simon’s lap and looked up at him. “Your people need to hurry up and find some dirt on Alyssa.”
“They will, baby. This stuff takes time.” He smiled as he ran his finger along my cheek. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For believing me and sticking by me. You’re pretty special. Did you know that?”
“I think so.” I grinned.
“Is that so?” Simon began to tickle me as I felt his erection against the back of my head.
“Is your cock ever not hard?”
“Is your pussy ever not wet?”
“Touché, Mr. Young. Can I spend the night at your house tonight?”
“Why?” he asked. “I mean, of course you can, but we never spend the night together unless it’s the weekend.”
“I think maybe I should let G and Donovan have the apartment to themselves tonight. With his wife being out of town, I’m sure he’s staying the night and, by the sound of things, they’ll be up all night talking.”
“That’s a good idea. Go grab your things and we’ll drive your car back so I don’t have to call Patrick.”
We had just finished making love when Simon’s phone rang. As he reached over and took it from the nightstand, he looked at me and rolled his eyes.
“Hello, Alyssa. It’s rather late, don’t you think? I’m sorry, but I can’t tomorrow. I’m tied up in meetings all day with the new hotel. No. It’s not up for discussion, Alyssa. Go to bed. We’ll talk tomorrow.”
“What was all that about?” I asked as I snuggled up against him.
“She’s going for an ultrasound tomorrow and expected me to be there. Don’t give it another thought, Gabrielle,” he said as he kissed my head. “Let’s get some sleep.”
As I lay there wrapped in his arms, I couldn’t help but wonder if Alyssa was telling the truth and Simon was the father of her baby. If he was, could I deal with it? I didn’t know. I didn’t know what the future held and I didn’t want to think about it. I only wanted to live in the present moment where I was the happiest I’d ever been in my entire life.

Chapter 24
“Katie, can you call up to Mr. Young’s office and see if he’s in. I need to go over some plans with him.”
“Yes, he’s up there,” she replied.
