- Don't miss out!
As I stood there and listened to him, I slowly closed my eyes. No strings. No emotions. He broke his own rules for me and I was about to break mine. I walked over to where he stood and took hold of his hands.
“Me and you, eh? Just the two of us? Until we can figure out a way to prove you’re not the baby daddy.”
He let out a small laugh. “Please don’t call me the baby daddy. Are you in? It’s going to be tough for a while.”
“I’m in.” I smiled as I brought my hand to his hair. “I’m tough. I can handle it. But I have one question for you. What happens if you are the father of her baby?”
“I’m not, Gabby,” he whispered as he ran his thumb down my chin.
“You called me Gabby.”
“I slipped.” He smiled.
I reached up and brushed my lips against his. “Take me to the bedroom and show me how much you want me.”
“Of course. But I don’t think we’ll make it to the bedroom. I’m thinking we may make it up the stairs and that’s about it.”
“You’re in control, Mr. Young. Take me wherever and however you want.”
“Ah, you shouldn’t have said that, Miss McCarthy.” He winked.

A month passed and Simon and I spent a lot of time together. We would alternate between his house and my apartment. He had gotten to know G and Donovan better and the four of us would have dinner and drinks together frequently. The baby drama was still going on and Simon’s people were no closer to finding the truth than they were two weeks ago. As for the mishap with the acquisition of the hotel, a man named Marcus, who was in cahoots with the previous hotel owner, was the one responsible for having the documents changed and making it look authentic so Simon would lose millions. It had something to do with Simon’s grandfather and some bad business deal with the family twenty years ago.
Simon and I were sitting on the couch, watching a movie, when G and Donovan stormed in.
“Giana, I promise I’m going to tell her as soon as she gets back from Montreal.”
“You’ve been saying that for how many months now? You’re a liar. I don’t believe you have any intention of leaving her,” G yelled.
They both went to the bedroom and shut the door. Things had been kind of tense the past week for them. Giana had confided in me that maybe she was wrong about Donovan and that he was never leaving his wife. I sat up with her a few nights ago while she cried on my shoulder over him.
“Well, that was awkward,” Simon spoke.
“Yeah. Just a bit. Do you think he’s ever going to leave his wife?”
