- Don't miss out!
“I left those files on your desk to look over. I’m going to head to my office. Do you want to do lunch later?”
I sighed. “I’m going with Simon. He’ll be here around noon.”
Peter smiled. “Good luck. We can do it another time.”
I sat down at my desk and asked Katie to come in. She was a cute girl and she looked to be about the same age as I was. She stood about five feet five inches tall with a size zero body, long curly blonde hair, and green eyes with a hint of gold.
“Is there something I can do for you?” she asked with a smile.
“How long have you worked here?”
“About six months.”
“I may need you to show me the ropes, so to speak.”
Her face lit up with a wide smile. “Of course I will. You seem really nice and I think I’ll like working for you. Jasmine sort of went out of her way to be mean.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“How do you take your coffee?” she asked.
“Black. Why?”
“Because every morning, I’ll have coffee waiting for you.”
“That’s really sweet of you, but totally not necessary.”
“I want to. It’s part of my job.”
My eyes diverted to the doorway where Simon was leaning against the frame with his arm above his head. The ache between my legs was back.
“Are you ready for lunch?” He grinned.
“Yes. Thank you, Katie. I’ll see you after lunch and we can go over a few more things.”
“Very well. Have a nice lunch, Miss McCarthy.”
“Gabby. You can call me Gabby,” I said to her.
As she walked towards the door, Simon smiled and moved out of her way. I saw the way she looked at him and I could tell she was smitten. I put my purse over my shoulder, and as I walked out of my office, Simon put his hand on the small of my back, sending goose bumps throughout my body.

Chapter 9
Simon took me to a place called Mistral Kitchen, which wasn’t too far from Young International. As soon as we stepped inside, we were immediately taken to a quiet table for two in the corner. Simon pulled out my chair for me as the hostess handed me a menu. He took the seat across from me and told her to tell our waitress that we would like two glasses of white wine. I couldn’t help but smile at him because he remembered my drink from the plane.
“White wine is fine, correct?” he asked.
“Yes.” I nodded.
