- Don't miss out!
“Hey, pretty lady. Whisky sour, double whisky.” He smiled.
“That’s right. You remembered.”
“I never forget a beautiful lady’s drink order.”
My cheeks heated as he made my drink and handed it to me.
“Gabby! Oh my God. This is...I have no words.”
“Isn’t it lovely?” I smiled.
“Where’s Simon?”
“I’m right here.” He smiled as he shook Donovan’s hand and gave G a hug.
I had to admit, I could have used a hug from him at this moment. The guests poured in and the waiters dressed in white walked around with glasses of champagne and appetizers. Simon walked away and went over to talk to some people he knew. Dana walked up to me and grabbed my arm.
“OH MY EFFIN’ GOD! I would kill to live in a house like this. I need a rich man in my life. Does he have any rich friends?”
“Why don’t you go ask him? He seems to be talking to everyone but me.” I walked away and had the bartender make me another whiskey sour.
The air was thick when Simon and I were near each other, and I noticed he made it a point to stay away from me.
“Gabby, I would like you to meet, Justin, my...ahem...friend.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Justin.” I smiled as we lightly hugged.
I looked at Jared. He was beaming from ear to ear. It was a look I once had not too long ago. “Good for you,” I mouthed. He gave me a thumbs-up as they walked away.
I happened to glance at the doorway and nearly felt like I was going to pass out when she walked in. Simon walked over and gave her a kiss and a hug. Calm down, Gabby. This is Giana and Donovan’s night. Don’t ruin it. My eyes started to tear, so I went inside the house and to the bathroom. When I came out, I saw Simon walk by. He stopped and then looked at me.
“Are you all right?”
“Yeah. Of course. I just had to use the bathroom.”
“Your eye looks kind of red.”
“I got something in it. Something was in the air outside. I got it out and I’m fine now.” I walked past him and back to the yard. I needed to make a toast.
I got up on the stage that was built inside the tent and took the microphone from the stand.
“Excuse me, everyone.” The tent went silent. “I would like to thank you all for coming here tonight to join in the celebration of two special people, Giana and Donovan.”
