I don't know, I guess not being all "I need love"-ish actually has made me more confident and ready to receive it? It's the great paradox of life. But, hello! I have you to thank. Just because last time I saw you I was saying something about Sam and you said "Jeez you talk about him like he's your boyfriend," like you were irritated and I thought about it really hard and realized you were right.

No you did say that. Or maybe you just looked at me like you were saying that.

Anyway the next week everything sort of fell into place. He was on the set of Devil's Dogs and I called him just to say hi. I was afraid he was too busy, but he appreciated the call. I think the whole war re-creation was getting to him. He was working such long hours, and trying to really get into his role as a U.S. Army Ranger sent to guard a small village of frightened Afghani women against an attack by a terrorist cell. He was sleeping in a mud hut. It was a true re-creation of Afghanistan's desolate, bone-dry landscape, rebuilt up in a lot on the outskirts of Toronto. It's just cheaper there. Sam just sounded different on the phone. It's hard to describe.
