- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
JD: You’re preaching to the choir, RB.
RB: It’s a waiting game.
JD: What’s your favorite flower?
RB: What a random question.
JD: C’mon, ZC. Is this your first day here? You know I live for the random questions.
RB: Sunflowers.
JD: Ah.
RB: That’s a vague response.
RB: Is my flower choice not good enough for you?
JD: On the contrary.
JD: Sunflowers are so vibrant and bright. Beautiful. They stand tall, even when they aren’t getting the light they require to survive, persevering, stretching, seeking warmth even under a cloudy sky. You strike me as being cut from the same cloth.
RB: JD…
JD: I think I’m going to call you Sunflower from now on.
JD: Sunflower Zebra Cakes.
RB: I don’t hate that.
RB: I kind of love it.
JD: Good.

September 27th
JD: Are you ready for the world’s strangest question?
RB: Good morning to you, too.
RB: I guess I am. Should I be worried? Are we playing a game?
RB: I had leftover birthday cake before coming into work and now my stomach is revolting against me.
JD: I’m jealous and living vicariously through you, Sunflower, since all I had for breakfast this morning was a meh bowl of cereal.
RB: What kind of cereal?
JD: Cheerios. Trying to make my heart healthy and they seemed like the better choice over Lucky Charms. That little sticker on the box really sold me.
RB: But Lucky Charms are magically delicious!
JD: You’re telling me. I’ve been bitter since I woke up.
RB: Which is your favorite marshmallow shape? I’m partial to the rainbows.
JD: Red balloons. They are superior in taste.
RB: You’re so weird. They all taste the same.
JD: Oh, Zebra Cakes. How wrong you are.
RB: Ask your strange question. I’m excited!
JD: Let’s say you live in the prehistoric times.
RB: Like Jurassic Park? Or the 1800s without cell phones and technology?
JD: Jurassic Park. The actual time period and not the theme park where everyone got eaten.
RB: Okay, sure. I’m picturing it. Seems a bit quiet and dull. How would I pass the time?
JD: If you had to pick one dinosaur to have as a sidekick, which one would you pick?
RB: Wow.
RB: Give me a minute.
JD: I know. It’s a tough question.
RB: Tough? It’s an easy question. I’m processing the fact that you actually asked me and you’re serious.
JD: Of course I’m serious! It’s a valid thing to want to know! What if we’re at the party and someone asks me your favorite dinosaur? How the hell am I going to respond?
RB: Okay. Here we go.
