I never understood the appeal of the back, but Jane changed my opinion so fast I was ready to buy her more dresses like this. She also had a high slit on her left side, and it let me think of all the dirty things I could do to her before the wedding started. I kept having to adjust myself. Cal and Aiden were no better. We all made sure we didn’t let anyone see we were lusting after one girl. Her mom and Paul were so snobby, I’d hate to hear what they had to say about Jane’s dress.

The bride and groom sat down at their table and the food was served. It wasn’t bad and I probably could have done better for cheaper, but I kept that info to myself. The guys looked at me like they knew what I was thinking, and I smiled to myself. I enjoyed seeing Jane with her brothers. It didn’t sound like they were really close, but after last night, it seems like maybe that was all behind them.

“This is what falling in love feels like” by JVKE started playing for the first dance, and I couldn’t help but smile. I looked at Jane as she lip-synced the words. She closed her eyes as she sang. “I know I sound super cliché, but you make me feel some type of way.” She smiled, still mouthing the words, and I felt a rush of emotions. She looked blissfully happy, and the song hit home more than I wanted. Is this what falling in love feels like? A moment of panic entered my mind. I looked at Aiden and Cal, seeing they were also looking at her. Cal’s face looked cool, calm and collected, but I saw the smallest smile on his face. Aiden looked nervous, but he also gave a tentative smile too. We had never been this happy, and I felt like this had been long overdue. We all looked at each other, and then we all looked at her.

I never voiced it out loud, but I felt like we could do this. Together, it felt like we could all fall in love with one woman and give her our best even though we all had baggage. We could be the best for Jane. She turned to look at us and blushed instantly, looking at us like we hung the moon and stars. Her smile was shy, but I think it was full of warmth and maybe the start of love.

I wanted to pull her in for a kiss and my face must have shown it because she nodded her head ever so slightly. I couldn’t wait till everyone left, so I could show her that she wasn’t the only one falling. Maybe not in so many words, but I was great with my tongue.
