I spent the rest of the day showing Kelsey everything I learned from the classes I took and, just to be safe, the Heimlich and CPR on an infant. You can never be too safe with a baby, and I wanted to make sure she was ready for anything. Callum and I left later that night feeling more somber the closer we got to the guys’ house. I crawled into Aiden’s bed and as much as I wanted to have sex with him, I needed even more comfort than I realized.
“Jane, we don’t have to do anything. I want you, but I also want you when you have nothing to worry about or your heart isn’t heavy.” He kissed my forehead. "We have plenty of time to be physical, but I want you in the right headspace and I want you happy because that’s important to me.” I fell asleep to Aiden running his fingers through my hair and in the middle of the night, I noticed Nathan had crawled into bed with us. I loved where this was going.

Spending nights with the guys made time fly by, and the next thing I knew, it was my last shift before the wedding. It was a busy Tuesday night with a constant influx of people coming in by the time the morning rolled around. I was so ready to leave and get some sleep before I needed to clean the house and start building stuff. I finished my last chart, making sure everything was filed and put away so I could get going.
“Did we get the discharge papers for the broken foot?” Daniel stood next to me at the nurses’ station.
“Yup, and I told them they needed to follow up with an orthopedic doctor and I sent in their medicine to their pharmacy too.” I closed the file on the computer and checked my watch. It was seven thirty-two, time to get the hell out of here.
“Great, want to get some breakfast?” I froze when he asked. Shit. I completely forgot he asked to get breakfast soon. The more I thought about it, maybe breakfast wasn’t such a good idea.
“I’m sorry, Daniel,” I said, smiling. “My brother is getting married this weekend, and it’s at my house.”
“Oh, that’s awesome.” He walked with me to the locker room.
“Yeah, I have a lot to do and I need some sleep before I start.” I grabbed my things out of my locker.
“Well, once things settle, maybe I can take you out for dinner?” I turned around to see him right behind me.
Nathan was right. How did I miss it? “Daniel…” I said, trying to think of something to say, but decided to just go with the truth.
“Let me guess, you're with Nathan?” He asked, walking to the door.
