“Wonderful,” I said, not keeping the sarcasm out of my voice.

“Hopefully Beth doesn’t take too long to come in.” He smiled at me. “I’ll keep my fingers crossed.”

I snickered. “Me too.” I walked behind the nurses’ desk, checking to see what was coming in and praying it would not be a really intense morning. Beth better hurry her ass in.

“I could get used to you in my bed.” Callum kissed my shoulder.

“Mmmmm… I’m not ready.” I mumbled into the pillow. Judging by the amount of light in the room, I’d only been asleep for a couple of hours. Beth didn’t show up to the hospital until noon and I came over to the guys’ house to shower and sleep.

“You said to wake you before dinner, so you didn’t sleep too long.” He kissed my arm, giving me goosebumps.

“Fuck that. I’m still tired.” I was enjoying the kisses he was now placing on my palm.

“I actually have a favor to ask you. You can say no. No pressure.” The hesitation in his voice made me bring my head up to look at him.

“What is it?” I asked, worried.

“You think you can check in with Kelsey? She’s struggling with the baby.” I then noticed the furrow in his brow; he looked exhausted.

“Yeah, is she worried about something?” I sat up.

“I think she’s worried about everything, but I know there is some stuff she would like help with. I’m apparently only good for my body heat and cuddles.” He yawned.

“Well, I have to say you are a fantastic cuddler. Do you think I need to go tonight, or would it be ok if I went tomorrow morning?” I scooted closer to him.

He looked at me for a moment. His silence coupled with his intense gaze made my heart flutter. “Whenever, but I just have to say this. Thank you. I’ve never been so blown away by any woman before. You’re so fucking smart, so beautiful, and you’re too fucking sweet for a person like me. I hope you never realize you could do a lot better than me because that day will gut me.”

“Callum,” I said, wishing he could see what I saw. “I think you’re amazing. You’ve stepped up to help your sister. You’re a great friend and you’re a fierce protector.”

He pulled me into his lap, cupping the side of my face, studying me before he pulled me in for a kiss. It was slow and sensual.

“God dammit. Can you guys share her for one fucking minute?”
